REPAIR ORDER RECORD
- Repair Type: Mechanical Repair / Electrical
- Repair Date: 08/05/2026
- Vehicle System / Component: Engine Lubrication / Instrument Cluster
- Customer Concern / Complaint (3-C's): Intermittent oil pressure gauge failure (reading zero) and active oil leak observed from the engine block area.
- Diagnostic Findings / Cause (3-C's): Verified engine mechanical oil pressure at 65 PSI. Inspection revealed the previously installed oil pressure sensor was the incorrect component (intended for a Mustang application), featuring an input shaft that was too short for the F-150 housing. This mismatch caused both the intermittent signal loss and an external fluid leak. A secondary leak was also identified at the Fram oil filter.

- Corrective Action / Labor (3-C's):Removed the incorrect sensor using a 13/16 inch wrench.
- Installed the correct Duralast PS407 Engine Oil Pressure Switch (obtained as a warranty replacement).
- Cleaned residual oil from the engine block surface.
- Verified that the dashboard oil pressure gauge returned to the normal operating range.
